The final book in the Trinity Trilogy is available now on Amazon, for you to enjoy – coming hard on the success of Snakes In Suits, Hinemura and Ted have pulled out all stops to have Scorpions In Stilettos ready for you in only four months!
Clara comes out of her shell and leaves her besties Sven and Freya shocked more than once, while she sees more than is healthy for any average public servant.
Looking for anything to fill the emptiness in her life, Clara crashes and burns spectacularly as she searches for love, truth, community and the real meaning of friendship.
Here’s the blurb:
Caught in a compromising position, Clara AKA Flat White, the classy, conservative career girl of the Trinity Trio, struggles as her carefully constructed life comes crashing down around her.
Juggling a complicated love life, a career with bullying managers, a domineering mother and her own demons from the past, may be just a little too much even for her.
Can Clara recover and navigate her way back with the help of her friends?

How are you coping as the whole world moves widely into the ‘new normal’ of dealing with the flow on effects from the coronavirus pandemic?
We are all being effected in some way, whether it is the lack of toilet paper, hand sanitiser, pain killers or other basic grocery items that we have all taken for granted.
To the social distancing isolation policies that are sweeping our society in it’s many forms, e.g. tourists being quarantined, doctors seeing patients in the medical centre car park; cafes, bars and restaurants closing, cruise ships being turned away and sporting, music and literary events being cancelled.
The popularity of the zombie apocalypse genre of movies and books is probably also feeding into the panic buying as unschooled ‘preppers’ waste their money on toilet paper.
Okay, and the world financial markets may be in free fall, but to be fair, they have been overdue for a correction for a decade now.
However, it is not all doom and gloom!
Collectively, we can still maintain social connectivity through various social media.
Stay positive and strong, don’t panic and look out for our neighbours. After all, it is the strength of our diverse communities that will help us all to survive.
And of course, you may get a chance to get stuck into that good collection of unread books on the bedside table!
So join Goodreads, and share what you are reading with your friends and let us take a leaf out of the Italian’s book, where they are having neighbourhood sing-a-longs from their apartment windows. (Not that you would want to her ME singing!)
I’ve just got off the phone with Hinemura Ellison and Ted Hughes receiving an update on their final book in the Trinity Trilogy, Scorpions In Stilettos, centring around the third friend Clara James AKA Flat White.

Sharks With Lipstick – Hinemura Ellison and Ted Hughes
Review by Karen Chisholm (Reproduced with permission)
SHARKS WITH LIPSTICK is a satirical romantic mystery written by Hinemura Ellison and Ted Hughes. Satirical it definitely is, as you’ll get from the blurb – with the concept being that there’s a Big Super Ministry as part of the government, where it seems employees spend more time playing their own form of politics than they necessarily do getting any actual work done. Aside from the trials of the workplace, there’s also a train that takes workers to and from Wellington to outlying country destinations, and you get to know a lot of the characters in this novel on that train journey. The journey is a commute, social event, meeting place, gathering point and sort of all in party on rails. Everyone has their own groups of friends, the alcohol flows freely on occasions, games are played, secrets are shared, and, on one particular night, a dead body discovered. Further complications arise because the body is that of the dreaded HR Director of the Big Super Ministry and the investigating officer is central character Samantha (aka Sven) Svensson’s ex. Needless to say Cat, the HR Director, and Sven have some history, but then there’s pretty much no-one in the Ministry that hasn’t got a problem with Cat. Everything is further complicated by an earthquake that’s just hit Wellington, and there’s plenty of concern about predictions of the next, really big one, happening any moment.
Firmly on the madcap side of satirical romantic mystery, SHARKS WITH LIPSTICK is often extremely funny. The biggest problem is the satirical gets in the way of the mystery, and whilst many of the scenes being executed by these authors are deadpan and often hilarious, they also form a sort of liquefaction effect (ridiculous earthquake analogy – sorry), where everything gets bogged down, and sure you’re laughing whilst stuck in the bog, but there’s also a suspicion that you’re never actually going to get out. SHARKS WITH LIPSTICK has some potential, and I know how hard it must be to set a really good funny line free, but I did come away from it thinking a bit less would have been way more in the long run. This is flagged as the first book in the Trinity Trilogy and it feels like Sven has more than enough chutzpah to carry that off.

So Hinemura how’s tricks? How is the sequel to ‘Sharks With Lipstick’ coming
HE: Well, funny you should say
that, my partner in crime Ted and I have been working really hard on the second
book in the Trinity Trilogy Series and it’s getting close to being finished.
BD: Really, do go on? How much
can you spill? I hope it’s more of the same characters. I did get quite
addicted to the three besties. Are they back?
HE: Yes, Freya, Sven and Flat
White are back in full force, along with some of the other characters, but the
difference this time, is that this book focuses on Freya as the main character.
BD: Oh, so does Sven take a back
seat for this one?
HE: Well yes and no. Freya comes
into herself more in this book. We really don’t know much about her in ‘Sharks
with Lipstick’… I know it is old coinage, but she finds herself in this one,
and we go along for the rollercoaster ride.
BD: And can we ask what the title
is of this next book?
HE: Well you can, but my
publisher may shoot me.
BD: What you mean it’s even
better than ‘Sharks with Lipstick’? Is that possible?
HE: Well yes. It’s a whole
different ball game to get the series titles to fit in with each other, but we
are bubbling with excitement.
BD: So, any clues?
HE: Well as you know ‘Sharks with
Lipstick’ is predominantly about women. The next one is about men and their
shady wheeling and dealing in the business world.
BD: Hmm how intriguing, so come
on what’s the title?
The sequel to ‘Sharks With Lipstick’ is, drum roll please… ‘Snakes In Suits’.
We have also realised that we may need to change up the book covers, so I’ll
get Ted to send them through once we have them back from the book cover artist.
I just know that everyone will love the new covers and the juicy twisting plots
as both ‘Sharks With Lipstick’ and ‘Snakes In Suits’ are set at the same time.
Are you telling me that the plots of both books are intertwined?
They sure are, and will also be tied into the third book, which we have started
and which won’t be too far away.
Wow, that’s a huge achievement! Congratulations, any hint on the third books
You will have to talk to Ted about that, he’s still trying to decide over a
couple of options.
Great, well Hinemura thanks again for your time today and I look forward to
talking with you and possibly the infamous Ted later.
